Introduction
This article explains how Virtual Cabinet Administrators can manage user security settings (including enabling or disabling Two-Factor Authentication) and how users can complete the initial 2FA setup when it has been enabled on their account.
Section 1 – Administrator: Managing User Security and 2FA settings
What is the User Security section?
The User Security option appears in the Admin tab when the Admin Access setting “Users” is enabled.
Administrators can use this screen to edit user details and manage Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for individual or multiple users.
Enable or disable 2FA for individual users
Locate the user in the list.
Check the 2FA Enabled checkbox to enable 2FA.
Uncheck the 2FA Enabled checkbox to disable 2FA.
A tick indicates 2FA is enabled.
An empty box indicates 2FA is disabled.
Bulk enable or disable 2FA for all users
-
Click the 2FA Enabled checkbox in the column header.
If the box is ticked → 2FA is enabled for all users.
If the box is unticked → 2FA is disabled for all users.
Section 2 – User: Setting up 2FA for the first time
When 2FA has been enabled on your Virtual Cabinet account, you will be asked to complete a setup process the first time you log in.
You will see a Set Up 2FA screen and must register an Authenticator App.
Step-by-step: Setting up 2FA
-
Download an Authenticator App to your mobile device.
Example apps:Google Authenticator
Microsoft Authenticator
Twilio Authy
Duo Mobile
LastPass Authenticator
Symantec VIP
Open the Authenticator App and scan the QR code displayed on the Virtual Cabinet screen.
The app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
Type this code into the field labelled Step 3 and click Complete.
If the code is correct, you will be logged in and won’t need to enter a new code again for 30 days.
⚠️ You will not be able to access Virtual Cabinet until a valid 6-digit code has been entered.
