This error implies that either:
- You do not have the permissions to change Portal publishers / You are not the Portal Admin
- You are at your Portal publisher license limit
- The process of changing a publisher's email address was completed incorrectly
How to resolve the error:
First, start by checking if you have the permissions to make changes to the Portal publishers. You can do this by:
- Within the 'Admin' tab of Virtual Cabinet, go to the 'Company Administration' section (under the 'Portal' heading)
- Within this new window, look for 'Administrators'
- Users listed here will have access to make changes to the Portal publishers page
If you are a listed user, then this means that you have the appropriate Portal access rights.
Note - Portal Administrators cannot have their license removed. They will first need to be removed as a Portal Administrator. For support with this, contact the Virtual Cabinet support team at support@virtualcabinet.com
Second, if you are a Portal Administrator, the error is due to reaching your Portal license limit. Check that the current Portal publishers are all correct. You can see all active publishers in the 'Publishers' section under the 'Portal' heading.
Note - When a Virtual Cabinet user account is deleted. Their Portal account may still be active.
Lastly, when changing a publisher's email address, the steps needed to complete this is as follows:
- Go to the 'Publishers' section in Virtual Cabinet
- Find the user whose address needs changing
- Untick the 'Enable' box next to their entry
- 'Save & Close'
- Open the 'Publishers' window again
- Re-tick the 'Enable' option next to the user's entry and update their email address
- 'Save & Close'
