Activate and Configure the Virtual Cabinet Hot Folder

Summary:

This article describes how to Activate and Configure the Virtual Cabinet Hot Folder.

More Information:

To check to see if the Hot Folder is already running, you can take a look at the Windows Taskbar at the bottom of your screen, you just need to look for the symbol.

Sometimes this can be hidden within the pop-up menu on the Windows Taskbar, just click on the up arrow to reveal any additional applications and look for our symbol there.

If this symbol isn’t there, then follow the Instructions below to activate it.

Activation:

  1. Log in to Virtual Cabinet and click on the ‘Cog’ in the top left.

This launches the Hot Folder application and you will then be able to find it in the area noted above on the Taskbar.

Configuration:

If you need to configure the Hot Folder at all (for example, to set it to launch automatically on startup), just follow the steps below.

  1. Find the Hot Folder Symbol on the Windows Taskbar.

Sometimes this can be hidden within the pop-up menu on the Windows Taskbar, just click on the up arrow to reveal any additional applications and look for our symbol there.

  2. Right click the symbol and then click on “Preferences”

This will bring up the preferences window which will allow you to configure the Hot Folder further, by setting it to start when you log in to Windows for example.

If you hop over to the “Advanced” tab, there are further options to configure, for example, the amount of time the Hot Folder will wait before attempting to send a file to Virtual Cabinet (This can help if you generate documents from a 3rd Party Product straight into the Hot Folder, allowing more time for the documents to be fully generated before the Hot Folder attempts to move them along).
