Change Portal Display Name

A Portal Users’ “Display Name” is used when they are addressed in automated e-mails from the Portal and will appear when the user signs a document through the Portal.

When a Publisher sends a document to person for the first time, they are given the opportunity to enter a Title, First Name and Last Name for the recipient.

These details are purely for the first document sent to the recipient, once the End-User has activated their account, the control of the name is purely under their control.

End User Setup

If the recipient has never had a Portal Account associated with that particular e-mail address before, the Title, First Name and Last Name will be used to address them in their Activation e-mail.

When the recipient follows the link from their Activation e-mail, they will be asked to enter information to set up their Portal Account, this includes their Title, First Name and Last Name etc.

The account will then be set up to use the names entered by the user at this point.

Once the Portal Account has been successfully activated by the recipient, their “Display Name” is then fully under their control.

What is shown in the virtual Cabinet Title, First Name, Surname boxes will be ignored and any changes made in the Virtual Cabinet publisher/contact window will have no effect on the name within email notifications etc.
