Summary:
This article describes how to Group and Order Searches in Virtual Cabinet.
More Information:
To make searches easier to review, the results can be grouped or ordered by following the steps below.
These steps can also be used in your Intray if there are a large amount of documents to look through, but you are limited by the columns that exist in your Intray.
- Go to the search tab and perform a search in Virtual Cabinet.
- If you left click on the column you want to order by, a small arrow facing either up or down will appear to confirm that the documents are ordered either ascending or descending by that column, this will be either alphabetically or numerically based on the contents of the column.
- If you want to group results by a shared value, for example “Document Type” you can left click and hold to drag a column up to the Grouping area as shown below.
- The group can be ordered into Ascending / Descending by clicking on the grouped column in the same way as a normal column as shown below, the same arrow will appear next to the group to indicate this.
- When results are grouped in this way, the individual groups can be closed and opened by clicking on the
or
symbols.
- If you no longer want search results to be grouped by a shared value, you can left click and hold to drag the column out of the Grouping area as shown below and the search screen will revert.
