This is the process for requesting a server move, you should use the following procedure:
- Log a support call, by either emailing or calling the support helpdesk, making sure you mention that you want a server move.
- A support engineer will give you a call and ask several questions about your Virtual Cabinet setup, this will determine the number of hours that will be needed for your system, and if you want it within working hours or outside working hours.
- They will also confirm whether it is to be a two or one part server move.
- After this call, the support engineer will contact your account manager, and he will send you an invoice; no scheduling will happen before this invoice is signed.
- The lead time on this will vary, however if it is urgent and needs to be addressed ASAP, please let support know, and that can be emphasised to your account manager, and can be put through as an emergency server move.
- Bear in mind, emergency and out of hours server moves will entail additional charges.
- Once this invoice is signed the delivery team will be in contact; and between you will work out the best time for your server move.
- A guide will be emailed to you, this will contain the instructions and steps that you need to perform before the server move date.
- On the server move date, an engineer will log on to your new server, and he will expect to see all the files and database files from the guide that was emailed to you to be in the new server. A server move can’t start without a full set of data, and if the data is not there a new date will have to be arranged.
- Once the server move is finished, the engineer will give you further instructions into how to setup the individual client machines, as well as setup going forward.
