Portal End-User: Authenticate Device & Browser

This article explains the device authentication process required when signing a Portal document for the first time on a new device or browser.

When you sign a document on the Virtual Cabinet Portal for the first time on a new device or browser, you will be asked to authenticate that device. This is a security measure to protect your Portal account.

More Information:

To authenticate your device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the document in the Portal and click Sign.

2. A pop-up will inform you that an authentication email has been sent to you. Click Ok, got it.

3. Check your email inbox for the authentication email from the Portal.

4. Open the email on the same device and browser you are using to sign the document and click the authentication link.

5. Select your device privacy option:

  • This device is private: authentication will remain active for future sessions on this browser.
  • This device is public: authentication will expire when you close the browser or log out.

6. You can now proceed with signing. A pop-up will appear allowing you to add an optional message before clicking Sign to complete the process.

Note: the authentication link is valid for five days. If it expires, you will need to request a new authentication email.
