Problem: When adding documents through the Hot folder, some of them will arrive to the In-tray corrupted, this normally happens when adding documents from a 3rd party Back office system such as Iris.
Explanation: The hot folder constantly monitors the Hot folder directory; so, every time a file appears in there the process of moving to the VC In-tray gets triggered. However certain programs and PDF printers do not output the complete file, instead they progressively build the file. This means that the Hot Folder starts moving the file to the VC In-Tray before it is “complete” resulting in a corrupt PDF file.
This can be easily Fixed by modifying the settings in the Hot folder.
- On the taskbar; open the system tray and find the Hot Folder icon.
- Right click and select Preferences:
- Once the Hot Folder Preferences Window opens, select the Advanced Tab and change the following values:
- Period of time before sending starts to 5000
- Period of time before files are deleted to 8000
This will give the 3rd party software enough time to complete the file before the Hot Folder process is triggered, resulting in a non-corrupt file being added.
