Virtual Cabinet can import user accounts directly from Active Directory, which is the recommended way to create new users when the site is connected to a Windows domain.
To access: Admin tab, Users and Groups section, Add Users from Active Directory.
If Active Directory is not available, the window will show a message saying it is unavailable.
How to Import Users
- Use the Domain dropdown and Name search field to find the accounts you want to add.
- Tick the accounts you want to import. You can select multiple.
- Optionally tick Show users already added to see accounts that already exist in Virtual Cabinet.
- Select a Template User on the right side. The new accounts will be created as copies of this user, inheriting their Access Setting, viewer preferences, and other profile settings. The first name, last name, and username will be updated to match the Active Directory account.
- Select the File Store for the users' Intrays.
- Click Add Users.
The total number of users created will not exceed your licence limit.
