Security Profiles
Security Profiles control what users and groups can do with individual documents. A profile is assigned to a document at the point of indexing and determines who can view, edit, delete, reindex, or is completely blocked from seeing it.
To access: Admin tab, Security section, Security Profiles.
Each profile has a Name and a Settings panel divided into four sections: Groups Members (groups with at least one permission set), More (all other groups), Users Members (users with at least one permission set), and More (all other users).
The five available permissions are:
View (can see and open the document),
Edit (can open for editing), Delete (can delete the document),
Re-index (can change the document's indexing information),
Revoke (completely blocks access, overriding any other permission the user or their group may have).
Security Profiles are assigned at the Cabinet or Folder level as a default, and can be overridden per document by users with the Override Default Security Access Setting.
Access Settings
Access Settings define which tabs, features, and actions are available to a user. Every user is assigned an Access Setting profile.
To access: Admin tab, Security section, Access Settings.
Key settings include: Edit Hierarchies (can add/edit/delete folders and cabinets), Intray, Scan, Search, Take Returns (Work in Progress), Deleted Documents Destroy and Restore, Document Creation settings (Create Documents, Create Templates), Document Export (Email, Extract), Notes and Shortcuts permissions, Override Default Security, Reports access per report type, Content Search, Keyword Search, and integration-specific permissions.
Admin Settings within an Access Setting control access to individual parts of the Admin tab. Enabling any single Admin setting grants the user access to the Admin tab, but they only see what their profile permits.
