Admin - Scan Settings

What are Scan Settings?
Scan Settings are pre-configured scanning profiles that control how a scanner behaves in Virtual Cabinet. When a user selects a Scan Setting before scanning, all scanning parameters are applied automatically from that profile.

Two default Scan Settings are provided: Black and White and Colour.

How to access Scan Settings:
Admin tab, Scan Settings section, Scan Settings.

Scan Setting options:

Description - the name users will see in the Scan Settings dropdown when scanning.

Scanner Name - selects the physical scanner the profile will use.

User/Group - restricts visibility of the profile to a specific user or group. Leave blank to make it available to all users.

File Type - sets the output format. Options are PDF, TIF, or JPG.

Scan Type - sets the colour mode. Options are Black and White, Greyscale, or Colour.

DPI - sets the scan resolution. 300 DPI is the standard default.

Duplex - enables double-sided scanning.

Feeder - sets whether to use the ADF (automatic document feeder) or Flatbed.

Split Mode - controls how the scan is divided into files. Options are:

  • None: all pages saved as a single file
  • Single Sides: splits by individual sides
  • Separate Sheets: one file per sheet
  • Barcode Separators: splits on detected barcodes

Quality Check and Append - prompts the user to preview and approve or discard the scan before it is sent, with the option to append additional pages.

Suppress Blank - automatically omits blank pages using the Blank Page Threshold setting.

Default File Name - pre-fills the file name field for the user when scanning.
